The Nier Reincarnation mobile game finally has a release date on the horizon. Players can get their hands on the free-to-play title on July 28, which is only a month away, so it won’t be long now before it drops.

Coming from Nier creator Yoko Taro, this upcoming mobile action RPG takes place in the realm called The Cage. Players will follow The Girl of Light, a being who is guided through this mysterious dimension by a transient entity called Mama. The two must uncover the past while avoiding a terrifying armored creature known as The Dark Monster. Players will explore different areas in The Cage, discovering statues along the way known as Scarecrows which will grant and upgrade weapons to fight off enemies. The battles take place in real-time inside these memories using a party of three using special attacks on-screen. Characters can be unlocked using the popular gacha system utilized in other mobile games.

Developer Applibot released a new trailer to accommodate the announcement for the game’s release via IGN. The video shows off some of the visually stunning blends of the 2D and 3D play styles of the game while also touching base on the story that takes place within the Nier universe. Much of the team, alongside Taro from the Nier series, has worked on the title, including composer Keiichi Okabe and producer Yosuke Saito. The last we heard about the mobile title was during a crossover event in January between Reincarnation and Nier Automata.

Pre-registration has already opened up since May 11th, already having a huge turnout. According to the main site, the game has already gotten over 300,000 registered users. The game will be giving out rewards to those who pre-register the game on either the App Store or Google Play. Square Enix is rewarding gems for those who sign up, increasing the number of gems for every 100,000 registrants. What is great is that the game is free to download, but there will be some in-app purchases. There has been no word on what these items are or how much they would affect the gameplay, but everyone will soon find out once the Nier Reincarnation mobile game drops towards the end of July.
