Every successful tech founder gets a lot of news coverage. But why shouldn’t they? After all, they’re among the most influential people on the planet, the top one percent of the one percent. Now, let’s talk about three tech founders (SpaceX’s Elon Musk, Google’s Larry Page, and Microsoft’s Bill Gates) and why they made headlines in the first week of August.

Elon Musk

On 6th August, tech founder Elon Musk was mentioned in the news after images he posted of SpaceX’s latest endeavor went viral. The billionaire posted shots of a Starship prototype spacecraft mounted on a Super Heavy rocket booster. The entire setup rose 400-feet into the sky.

SpaceX is preparing for another test flight to orbit. And the objective is to gather more information to further Elon Musk’s agenda to send humans over to Mars.

Larry Page

On the same day, Google co-founder Larry Page was also tagged in the news. The billionaire tech founder has been keeping a low profile for a while now. But recently, there were reports that Mr. Page was actually now based in New Zealand. The reports were later found to be true.

New Zealand’s borders remain closed in an effort to contain the Covid-19 situation. But the country granted Mr. Page entry “to respond to an emergency.”

Bill Gates

On the 2nd of August, billionaire tech founder Bill Gates finalized his divorce from his ex-wife, Melinda Gates. And with all that’s at stake, the media has been following the story very closely. Bill and Melinda Gates’ union was a key strengthening factor behind the multibillion-dollar titular foundation they both founded.

Now, some experts worry that the divorce might set into motion a chain of events that will change the course of the foundation and maybe even stifle its impact. There will be more on that story later.

But that’s just a round-up of this week’s tech founder news. Did we miss anything? Let us know!
