The beginning of a new chapter for Splitgate is upon us. During Gamescom 2021, Splitgate was given a content window to showcase its upcoming first season for online madness. Entitled “Season 0”, this fresh wave of content for Splitgate will bring in new and improved features for all players to enjoy.

Activating Splitgate Season 0: The Inception of a New Season

Splitgate has been on the airwaves of gamers and e-sport competitors for quite some time now. Now that many have flocked to check out the Halo/Portal hybrid, the game is ready to initiate a Season Battle Pass of its own making. The announcement of its first Season brings forth a new map, Battle Pass rewards, fresh game modes, and gameplay adjustments.

Karman Station will replace the original Outpost map, which has been reimagined for the game’s current roster of maps. In addition to the updated map, Contamination is a new asymmetrical mode. This mode will pit a Contaminated team with Bats against the Humans equipped with shotguns. When someone on the Human side dies, they’ll respawn with the Contaminated team. The match will end in either two ways: if all players are contaminated, or if the time clock runs out. There’s also an unconventional casual team rumble playlist that consists of more offbeat modes for the uncompetitive kind.

Due to insane feedback and demand, the Final Kill Cam is being implemented for those who wish to see how their matches conclude. The pistol is also getting a balancing rework, along with adjustments to the overall aim assist support for controllers. Overtime has been added to the King of the Hill, VIP, and Oddball modes. Daily Challenge completions will result in a drop. Referrals will receive new items in its 9 level system. Searching and filtering can now be tinkered with in the Custom Games Browser, as well.

For those who are more inclined to be the best, more Elo divisions have been established into the game. The Killcam will be enabled for all modes except SWAT, and all portal activations can be shot through fallen allies.

Any player who wishes to swap teams during a custom game can now do so in part with Season 0. Additionally, the pickup text visibility will see some improvements, along with updated Hills and Domination points on several maps. The Hill Mesh has also been tweaked for this new season.

Splitgate is playable now for the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC. Are you ready to transport your way through Season 0 of Splitgate? Which part of the Splitgate Gamescom 2021 announcement did you find most intriguing? Be sure to let us know with a comment below!
