Netflix Renews The Witcher for Season 3 and More

As a part of Tudum: A Netflix Global Fan Event, Netflix has shared details, plans, and trailers for a number of their original series, movies, and more. Amongst all of the incredible news coming from Netflix today, it was announced that the streaming giant has renewed The Witcher series for a third season. The news of The Witcher season 3 comes a few months ahead of The Witcher season 2 premiere, which is currently set for December 17 of this year.

Aside from the announcement of The Witcher season 3, Netflix also shared two new clips from the coming season 2 with the event’s viewers. They showcase some new footage with Nivellen as well as Geralt and Ciri. You can check out the clips below:

As if this was not enough great news for fans of The Witcher series, Netflix revealed some behind-the-scenes clips from the upcoming prequel: The Witcher: Blood Origin. The prequel series is set to explore the creation of the first Witcher prototype and the events that lead up to the “Conjunction of the Spheres”. The behind the scenes footage can be seen below:

After that, Netflix announced even more plans to expand and develop its cinematic universe of Witcher content. This includes producing another anime series similar to The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. The streamer also announced plans to create Witcher-based kids and family-style series.

Before finishing their segment on The Witcher series, spinoffs, and more, Netflix dropped a new trailer recapping the first season and teasing all of the events to come in the second. You can check it out and get pumped for the next season below:
