What do you look for in a new car? Is it all about speed and trunk space or do you also factor in your carbon footprint? If so, then then Tesla has you covered with their new Model X. When put into the awesomely named ‘Ludicrous mode’, the P90D version will do 0-60 MPH in 3.2 seconds. It has a top speed of 155 MPH and a maximum range of 250 miles per charge. Tesla has also stuffed it full of modern doodads like camera, radar and sonar systems to allow the car to constantly monitor its surroundings. The Model X can also protect its occupants with its Bioweapon Defense System.
Yes, apparently, Tesla is trying to expand its market reach from ‘the environmently concerned’ to include ‘the massively paranoid’.
The defense system in question will use a medical grade air filter. In their own words;
‘A medical grade HEPA filter strips outside air of pollen, bacteria, viruses and pollution before circulating it into the cabin. There are three modes: circulate with outside air, recirculated inside air and a bioweapon defense mode that creates positive pressure inside the cabin to protect occupants.’
The Model X also comes with other useful features such as room for seven people and an accessory hitch that can carry up to four bikes or six pairs of skis. But really, who cares about any of that when Tesla’s new creation is fitted with something straight out of a spy movie? I’d love to have sat in on the meeting where their lead designer pitched that particular idea. Sadly, I can’t, but we do have some footage of their lead designer at his previous place of employment;

If we’re lucky, maybe this is just the beginning and Tesla will be the one to finally invent the flying cars we’ve all been waiting for.
