It seems some trouble occurred early with GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition on the PlayStation 4, as Sony removed GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition from its online store on the console, due to pre-orders for the game unlocking early for players who purchased it.

The game – which plays on both PS4 and PS5 – was supposed to launch globally at the specific time of 7 AM PST / 10 AM ET / 3 PM GMT on all platforms (including Xbox and PC). However, players who had pre-ordered the digital version of the game on the PlayStation Store found that it was unlocking for them at midnight at their local time.

This issue occurring means that many players, in countries such as New Zealand and the United Kingdom were gaining access to the game much earlier than intended, and as a result, Sony removed GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition from its online store to stop the issue.

Whereas players were previously able to pre-order the game, its store page proceeded to only give them the option to add it to their wishlist, accompanied by a timer ticking down to the official launch time.

The Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game remain available on the Xbox Store, as it doesn’t appear that the same issue happened on those formats, and the game has released on time, without early access on these platforms.
