Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals! The Home Alone house is quite massive as it is home to a large number of McCallister family members. However, now, you and your family can now stay in this giant house from Home Alone thanks to Airbnb. This is part of a promotional event for the latest entry in the Home Alone franchise, Home Sweet Home Alone, now streaming on Disney+.
The overnight stay is hosted by Buzz McCallister, Kevin’s older brother who was a bully in the first two movies. However, Buzz now claims to have had a change of heart as he has grown up over the years.
“You may not remember me as particularly accommodating,” Buzz says in the news release, “but I’ve grown up, and I’d be happy to share my family home — my pizza, even — with you this holiday season. Just try not to let my tarantula, Axl, loose this time.”
Buzz is played by Devin Ratray in both Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. He also has a cameo as a police officer in Home Sweet Home Alone. Ratray will not actually be there, but photos of Buzz and his family will be adorned on the walls.
That’s not all either. Guests who stay at the Home Alone house will be given gifts such as a trimmed tree, 1990s junk food including Chicago pizza and Kraft bac & cheese, booby traps you can set, a meet-and-greet with a tarantula (ew), a screening of Home Sweet Home Alone, and a lego Home Alone set.
For those looking to stay at the Home Alone house with Airbnb, the stay is priced at $25 plus taxes and fees and it opens for booking on Dec. 7. It’s important to note that Airbnb will be following COVID-19 guidelines, with staff wearing masks and practicing social distancing. The company will provide guests with a $1,000 travel credit if cancellation becomes necessary. Guests will also have to pay and set up their own travel to and from Chicago.
