The rebootedย Saints Row has finally received a gameplay trailer. The trailer dropped at The Game Awards tonight and is the first real look at the game that fans have seen since its surprise announcement earlier this year. Check out the trailer below.
The gameplay trailer for theย Saints Rowย reboot comes just weeks after it was revealed that the game would be delayed by six months. The game was originally supposed to be released on February 25, 2022. That was surprising since it was only officially announced in August of this year. Normally, big games likeย Saints Rowย would be announced a year or more before release. Perhaps that should have been the case withย Saints Rowย since the game was delayed to August 23, 2022, just a few weeks ago.
After the delay, it’s good to see an update on the game in the form of this gameplay trailer. Fans of the series were critical of the first trailer for the game with many claiming that the game didn’t ‘feel’ like aย Saints Rowย game. It will be interesting to see where Saints Rowย fans land on this gameplay trailer since, gameplay-wise, it definitely seems to feel like the older games in the series.
Theย Saints Rowย series has been on somewhat of a forced hiatus since the last game,ย Saints Row IV, was released all the way back in 2013.ย Saints Row IVย sold well and was critically well-received, however, there were also some who thought it went too far with the popularย Saints Rowย formula.ย Saints Rowย reboot is shaping up to be a back-to-basics game for the franchise. Keeping the popular humor, gameplay, and story that made the original games so popular and doing away with some of the crazier aspects of later games.
Whether that’s what fans want remains to be seen.
