The Death Stranding Director’s Cut has been officially announced for PC after being inadvertently leaked by Intel. The game will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store when it is released in the Spring.

Death Stranding Director's Cut - PC

Death Stranding Director’s Cut is the upgraded version of the game that was released on PS5 last year. The upgraded version of the game came with several improvements on PS5. The game featured new graphics options that allowed players to choose between native 4K and 60 FPS “target” and scaled 4K with a more stable 60 FPS. Dualsense support was one of the most significant additions to the game on PS5, but it’s unclear whether that support will come to PC players using a Dualsense controller. There were also a plethora of items, cosmetics, and abilities that enhanced the Death Stranding experience.

The graphics upgrades won’t be of much use to PC gamers who already had some of the best graphics options of any PC game in the original Death Stranding. However, the Director’s Cut version of the game was a cheap $10 upgrade on PS5 for those who already owned the game on PS4. Hopefully, PC owners will get access to the same upgrade option to experience the other parts of the upgrade.

What will be of interest to PC gamers is the inclusion of Intel’s new XeSS supersampling technology. Intel’s new software promises to boost the performance of games in much the same way that Nvidia’s DLSS and AMD’s FSR already do. Intel has some lofty claims about how good its software is. Death Stranding will be one of the first games to support it, so it will no doubt be used as a benchmark for how good Intel’s XeSS is in real-world usage.

Death Stranding Director’s Cut will arrive on PC in the Spring. It will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
