Marvel’s Ant-Man is getting a sequel, and its director Peyton Reed is currently in negotiations to direct it. Ant-Man 2 will drop on July 6, 2018.

According to Hollywood Reporter, this is the first deal involving Marvel’s recently announced movies. So far, the only news about Marvel’s recently announced movie slate are the release dates and how some of them have changed. For example, Black Panther is now scheduled for February 16, 2018, and not July 6. Captain Marvel was pushed back from November 2, 2018, to March 8, 2019.

Ant-Man grossed $178 million in the domestic box office, which came as a surprise to Marvel fans who’ve grown accustomed to blockbusters featuring more well-known superheroes such as Iron Man, Thor, The Hulk and Spider-Man. The movie has also done well overseas, grossing $455 million, including the $43.2 million that it earned in China last weekend.

No other news regarding Ant-Man 2 has been announced. Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish, who were credited for the first movie, will not likely return for the sequel. Wright, who was poised to direct Ant-Man, backed out, citing creative differences. Adam McKay and Ant-Man star Paul Rudd were credited as writers for the shooting script.

Fans will next see Rudd as Ant-Man in Captain America: Civil War, which comes out May 6, 2016.
