Peanut butter and jelly. Abbot and Costello. Marge and Homer. Classic pairings where one can hardly be thought of without the other. It appears a new iconic couple will soon be on the scene that we need to sit up and pay attention to bread and goat.
Bossa Studios, the creators ofย I am Bread, and Coffee Stain Studios, the makers ofย Goat Simulator, have announced that in a few weeks, the two universes would be combining.ย On their official page, they tout the union known asย GoatBread as “the gaming event of the millennium.” They also claim that the DLC update “will show youย unbelievable new ways to get even more Goat and even more Bread in your life.” Both games will be receiving a crossover DLC update in the coming weeks.
Goat Simulator is a ridiculous open world game where you play as an indestructible goat on a mission to destroy everything around you. The game is full of glitches and world-breaking bugs, but that is meant to be part of the charm of things. It also has a surprisingly deep amount of secrets and unlockables to discover that belie its silly exterior. Withย the GoatBread update, players will be able to choose the sentient piece of bread from I am Bread as their character.
I am Bread is another ridiculous game which sees the player attempt to turn themselves into toast before they become to inedible. It is physics-based and has some intentionally bizarre controls to add humor and difficulty. Withย GoatBread,ย I am Bread will see a new, Goat Simulator inspired levelย entitled “RAMpage mode.”
Both DLC updates are free if you own their respective games. Even though bothย Goat Simulator andย I am Bread are intentionally outlandish and somewhat broken, they can both be fun experiences with relatively low price tags, especially if they are being played with an audience.
