Comicbook is reporting this morning that 343 Industries is looking to create a Halo Infinite battle royale mode that may be in the works. Fans have been clamoring for this popular game archetype to reach the Halo universe even since the game was released back in December of 2021.

This popular game mode has been made popular by games like Apex Legends, Fortnite, and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG: Battlegrounds).

Who’s Behind This New Halo Infinite Battle Royale Mode?

The new Halo Infinite battle royale mode was reported by an anonymous source with close ties to 343 Industries. The report mentions that the game mode being worked on is being tailored to players who played the previous battle royale games. What is interesting is that the game mode in question isn’t being worked on in-house; instead, it is being worked on by the Texas-based studio, Certain Affinity, a studio that has assisted 343 Industries before and has also worked on Call of Duty titles along with World of Tanks and are currently working on a Monster Hunter like game.

You pair this potential news with the fact that 343 Industries has confirmed that they will be supporting Halo Infinite for years; this could also be a test run to see if a Halo Infinite battle royale mode would work for a shooter that has been a mainstay on Xbox consoles for decades.

The Halo franchise started back in November of 2001 with Halo: Combat Evolved and has 13 more titles released under the franchise, including plenty of sequels, remakes, real-time strategy games, and even a mobile game.

Halo Infinite is currently available on Xbox Series X and Series S, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows.

How bad do you want 343 Industries to introduce a Halo Infinite battle royale mode? What other game modes would you want to see implanted? Let us know in the comments section down below!
