It was the 11th annual New York Game Awards last night, and the big game winners of 2021 were honored for all their hard work throughout last year. We brought you who the nominees would be earlier this month, and the curtain has fallen on the winners at this year’s virtual event. The awards celebrated the best games, actors, esports athletes, and journalists of the past year and the usual messages of “perseverance throughout the pandemic from within the industry” were echoed loudly. Some of the big CEOs like Phil Spencer (CEO at Microsoft) and Stanley Pierre-Louis (CEO of the ESA) gave their messages of support to the hard-working people of the industry as well. The event was held in front of a global audience on Twitch, YouTube, and IGN, and it’s now time to reveal the big game winners of 2021.

  • Herman Melville Award for Best Writing in a Game:

So, that is it, the big winners of the New York Game Awards 2022 are now revealed – make of them what you will. The New York Video Game Critics Circle (NYVGCC) also wanted to congratulate all the winners and the nominees for a positive year in gaming and hopes 2022 will exceed last year’s performances. Maybe next year it will move away from virtual and include some lucky guests.
