The very first teaser for Obi-Wan Kenobi, the upcoming Star Wars series on Disney Plus, has just released in a new trailer earlier today. The trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi provides a first look at Ewan McGregor’s return as the titular exiled Jedi and will run for six episodes on Disney Plus starting on May 25.
Obi-Wan Kenobi will follow the master Jedi then years following the vents Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, which saw him take refuge on the desolate planet of Tatooine to both hide from the Empire and keep watch on the infant Luke Skywalker. The series will debut almost 17 years following the release of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, and 456 years since the debut of Star Wars: A New Hope.
The official synopsis reads:
“The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of Sith where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat – the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as the evil Sith Lord Darth Vader. The series tart Ewa McGregor, reprising his role as the iconic Jedi master and marks Hayden Christensen’s return to the role of Darth Vader. Joining the cast are Meses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumanji Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kung, Simone Kessel, and Benny Sodfie.”
Joel Egerton and Bonnie Piesse will reprise their prequel trilogy roles as Luke Skywalker’s Uncle Owen Lars and Aunt Beru in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, In addition, Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, McGregor, and Joby Harold are also confirmed to executive-produce the series.
