The title says it all. On December 3rd, one of the most anticipated Dragon Quest spin-off games, and also quite possibly the biggest mouthful of a name, willย be officially called Dragon Quest Heroes: Slime Edition. It is so named because it comes with eleven slime-themed weapons, an armor piece, and two bonus maps. What’s more, from now until its release on December 3, gamers who pre-purchase the Slime Edition will receive a ten percent discount, bringing the price down from $60 to $54. And, of course, it’s available in English.

Splat O’Nine Tails (whip)
Slime-On-A-Stick (wand)
Slime Sword (sword)
Gooreat Sword (heavy sword)

Goopid’s Bow (bow)
Squishing Rod (staff, not an actual fishing rod. At least I don’t think…)
Gungenir (spear)
Gooey Gloves (gloves)
Fandangoos (shoes)
Goolden Axe (axe)
The two maps are the Gold-Digger’s Map and the Happy Map.ย A picture on the Steam page also shows a ring, but it is unknown what it will be called or what it does.
A quick summary of Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below’sย plot is as follows:
In the city of Arba, the monsters that once lived alongside the humans suddenly go berserk and begin attacking. It is up to the heroes, Luceus and Aurora, to battle their way through the hordes to the source of the trouble. Players will be able to bring certain defeated monsters into combat with them to utilize their abilities, and will also meet and recruit famous characters from previous Dragon Quest titles.
The system requirements for the game are bulky, but that shouldn’t be a problem for a modern gaming PC. Most notably, the game requires Windows 7 64-bit or higher, four gigs of RAM, and 20 gigs of memory. If you’re unsure about your graphics card and other hardware, it might be a good idea to check your computer’s compatibility before purchasing.
