The news was announced through a recent press release by the team, which we’ll recap below.

Starting off with the main event, Summer Game Fest 2022 is set to represent a number of partners and showcase what they have cooking in the oven. This will include announcements from such greats as 2K Games, Bloober Team, Devolver Digital, Focus Entertainment, Humble Games, Raw Fury, Steam, and many more developers and publishers with more to be announced in the coming days! With so many big developers ready to showcase their new creations, we’re sure to have plenty to sink our teeth into over the next year.

That’s not all though, as following the event will be Day of the Devs which also revealed its upcoming lineup of great indie talents! These include ustwo games (creators of Monument Valley), Michael Frei (Plug and Play, KIDS), Gummy Cat’s Bear and Breakfast, Max Inferno, Two Star Games, and asobu, a community dedicated to supporting Japanese game developers. This event will begin just after Summer Game Fest, so be sure to tune in and see what’s in store.

Tim Schafer, founder of Double Fine Productions (Psychonauts series) and co-founder of Day of the Devs, had the following to say:

Wait, what year is it? Ah, who cares! It’s Summertime, and that means it’s time for Day of the Devs! Last year, we had an unbelievable number of unique and diverse games and this year will be no different. Well, a little different, in that it might be even better. So, probably different, and probably better. Because we’re smarter now and have a lot of folks helping us!”

In the meantime, what are you most excited about with Summer Game Fest 2022 and Day of the Devs’ partners? Any announcements you hope to see? Let me know!
