Stray, the anticipated indie about a kitty in a big city, has received both a new trailer and a release date of July 19 during today’s PlayStation State of Play. You can also wishlist and pre-purchase the game on your platform of choice, set at around $30 USD or your regional equivalent. Take a look at the trailer below to see if you’d be interested!
What Does Stray Have to Offer?
Stray, as the name implies, follows a stray cat as it finds itself lost in a massive cybercity, housing both some beautiful environments and a seedy underbelly deep beneath the surface. From a third-person perspective, you’ll roam both under and over the bustling city and dodge threats looking to make a stray cat a quick dinner. All of this, combined with plenty of environmental puzzles for you to solve, makes Stray easily one of the more intriguing adventure games we’ve seen in a good few years. You won’t have to do it alone either, as this stray kitty is joined by a small robot friend named B-12. The only question now, is can the duo make their way out of this city?
Stray comes from the rather talented indie game developers of BlueTwelve Studio, which is a small group located in the south of France. Through a partnership with their publisher Annapurna Interactive, the team hopes to deliver a unique, thought-provoking adventure that’s sure to stick in the mind. If you ask me, the marketing has at least served to do that justice. While we’ll need to wait until July 19 still to see what the game has to fully offer, you can easily count me on board.
I’d love to hear your thoughts though. Will you be purchasing the indie game Stray when it releases on July 19? What did you like most from the State of Play? Let me know!
