Capcom has finally shared brand new details about the previously announced DLC expansion for Resident Evil Village, confirming that three new expansions will be coming into the game simultaneously on October 28, 2022, all a part of the Winters’ Expansion. The first will include the addition of a third-person mode – the first time since Resident Evil 6 that a mainline game has had such a feature; the second, The Mercenaries Additional Orders, will allow you to play as new characters, including Alcina Dimitrescu and others; and the third, Shadows of Rose, will tell a brand new story years after the events of the base game.

Resident Evil Village DLC and Showcase Details

Capcom revealed brand nee details on the upcoming Resident Evil Village DLC during the Capcom 2022 Showcase. The critically acclaimed latest entry in the iconic survival horror series first launched in 2021 and has sold over  6 million copies worldwide. Capcom first announced the addition of DLC in June of last year.

The first Resident Evil Village DLC expansion will be the addition of a Third-Person Mode, which will allow players to play the main story mode from a third-person perspective. This will let you see Ethan as he faces off against his enemies and experience the story from a fresh perspective.

The second DLC, titled The Mercenaries Additional Orders, is an arcade-like action shooting experience that sees the return of additional stages and new playable characters, including Chris Redfield, the hammer-wielding Karl Heisenberg, and nine-foot-tall vampiric mistress Alcina Dimitrescu. Each one of them will feature their own unique fighting style.

The final DLC will come in the form of a brand new additional story that follows up 16 years after the events of the base game and will take place from a third-person viewpoint. The official desertion for the Shadows of Rose expansion reads:

“16 years after the events of Resident Evil Village…

Rosemary Winters, Ethan’s beloved daughter, has grown up and is now struggling with terrifying powers. In search of a way to break free from her curse, Rose enters the consciousness of the Megamycete. Rose’s journey takes her to a mysterious realm where memories of the past return to create a warped and twisted world of nightmares.”

The final bit of news confirmed that Resident Evil Re: Verse, the bonus multiplayer spinoff for Resident Evil Village, will officially begin service at the same time the Winters’ Expansion is released. We hope you will enjoy this action-packed game as well.

The Resident Evil Village Winters’ Expansion will officially release on October 28, 2022, for Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
