This article is over 3 years old and may contain outdated information.

Do you want to know how to kill or save the Hackett Family in The Quarry? The Quarry is a game in which you constantly need to make complex decisions. The weirdest characters in the game are the Hackett family, and you’ll want to kill most of their family members as you progress through the game. But if you see a good ending, you can not kill them all. Our guide aims to help you and tell you how to kill and save each Hackett family member.

How to Kill or Save the Hackett Family in The Quarry?

(Updated on August 8, 2024 – updated links and format)

Before we start, it’s worth noting that you won’t be able to save all characters. Because saving one character, you doom someone else to death. In the case of the Hackett family, the Werewolf virus touched their entire family, and you risk losing several characters at once, leaving them alive.

But some of Hackett should be saved, and below we will tell you how to save and kill each member of the Hackett family:

  • Kaylee. Unfortunately, you cannot influence the fate of Kaylee. She will die regardless of your decisions.
  • Constance. Laura and Constance will fight for weapons in chapter 9. If you want Constance to live, fail QTE playing for Laura. Try to succeed in QTE if you want to kill her.
  • Jedidiah. To save the life of Jedidiah, you always need to run away from him. You also need to kill Chris to save the life of Jedidiah. Shoot him in any chapter instead of running if you want to kill him.
  • Chris. Chris stays alive if you kill Laura by playing for Ryan in chapter 9. You can kill Chris in the same episode if you do not shoot at Laura. Chris is a character that needs to be killed to save the lives of 4-5 other characters.
  • Bobby. To save Bobby, leave the knife in Ryan. Bobby will pull out the knife a little later and will be alive. Let Chris live if you want to kill Bobby.
  • Travis. Don’t let Travis make decisions that will cause him serious injury. Also, don’t shoot Travis while playing as Laura. To kill Travis, don’t kill Silas.
  • Caleb. Do not kill Caleb when he chases Kaitlin. In the same episode, you can kill him if you want.

It is worth noting that most Hacketts are easier to kill than save. If you sacrifice them for the sake of other characters, you will get a happy end of the game. The exception is Travis, as he is necessary for a happy finale. If you prefer the gloomy ending of the game, try to save the Hackett family if possible.
