The open beta for Ubisoft’s upcoming shooter Rainbow Six Siege was supposed to start at 10:00 A.M. PST today. However, something has happened to make Ubisoft push back the start date only a mere six days away from the release of the full game.
“We’re currently seeing issues with matchmaking times and disconnection on all platforms,” the publisher said on the official forums. “As such we’re postponing the Open Beta until a later time and keeping the game under Closed Beta status. We apologize for the delay and can assure you this is our top priority. We will keep everyone updated regularly as we continue to deploy improvements.”
The open beta is scheduled to end on November 29 and includes 14 Operators, three maps, and three game modes.
The closed beta that took place back in September also had a rough start. Problems with that beta also started with matchmaking. Players were able to join lobbies, but the lobbies would sometimes hang and never start the game. Between both betas having these types of problems, the outlook for the final version of Rainbow Six Siege is not looking good. Will Ubisoft be able to turn things around in time for release?
