Numerous PC manufacturers seem to outright avoid the custom-tailored desktop service. Except for Razer’s “Project Christine” and Lenovo’s Erazer series, the two haven’t made many ripples in the PC desktop world… up until now.

Although both Razer and Lenovo have a few gaming-optimized laptops, Lenovo has slacked in the peripheral department, while Razer has been a no-show concerning desktops. It would appear both companies have a lot to gain by partnering. To this extent—at the DreamHack summit in Sweden—Lenovo announced they’d be teaming up with Razer in order to produce a multitude of gaming hardware products; including laptops, peripherals and desktops. Pictured below is their first team effort, the simply titled, “Lenovo Razer Edition.”

No love for Razer’s three-headed snake logo?

There are no official specs given for the internal components that the pictured chassis may contain. For now, all that can be derived from the photo is Lenovo’s Y series brand, back-lit in Razer’s unmistakable green hue. The bottom of the chassis also has a gamut of rainbow-colored lighting; presumably RGB LEDs like those featured in Razer’s “Chroma” products. At DreamHack on Friday, the two manufacturers had this to say:

“PC gaming today offers a rich and immersive experiences – thanks in part to cutting-edge graphics performance, superior processing power, and peripherals designed specifically for gaming. Lenovo will employ its system design and engineering expertise, while Razer will enhance the immersive experience for gamers.”

The gaming desktop is expected to be officially debuted at CES in January, and hopefully by then the newfound alliance may have a lot more than just a desktop to parade around. Currently, the Lenovo Razer Edition desktop is slated for release sometime Q1 of 2016.

Anything that’s good for gaming is good for me. Comment below with your thoughts on the merger.
