Pokemon Go, the mobile game about finding and catching many unique Pokemon, features more than enough systems for you to interact with. From collecting many, many Pokemon, to gathering up all sorts of consumables and items for you to use down the road, there’s no shortage of new things to collect. One of these items is Adventure Incense, which can make the process of finding Pokemon out in the wild much easier. If you’re wondering why it’s not working as intended, then we’re thankfully here to help. In this guide, we’ll explain how to fix incense not working in Pokemon Go!

How to Fix Incense Not Working in Pokemon Go

When it comes to players being concerned about the item not working, it’s usually due to one of two fairly obscure reasons. The first, and easiest to fix, is the fact that the item doesn’t work when you’re stationary. This is obviously simple enough to fix, as moving around should make the Pokemon spawn rates that much faster. The other potential issue though, and one you’ll need to go into your phone’s settings to fix, has to do with your device’s clock. For reasons unknown to the majority of us, Incense won’t work unless your phone is set to have an automatic clock. To do so will differ depending on what device you’re on, but you’ll generally need to head over to your device’s Clock settings and work your way from there until you find the ability to enable an Automatic Clock.

Provided that’s on and you’re moving, it should work as intended. If it doesn’t, you’ll likely need to report the issue and wait for Niantic to get on top of it. Hopefully, either of our methods helped!

Pokémon Go is available on iOS and Android devices.
