Get out your piano wire, slide into your most comfortable disguise, and find yourself a signature way to kill the target because Hitman is getting a beta.

Today, Square Enix announced, at the Playstation Experience, that the stealth assassination game Hitman will be receiving a beta. It will be available, on February 12th of next year, for those who have preordered the game via PS4. It comes February 19th for those who preordered the game on the PC. This comes as good news to fans of the series, due to the game’s launch date being pushed back to March 11th of the same year. The developer, Io-Interactive, needed more time to create additional content for the game.

The teaser, released at the PlayStation Experience, implies that this newest game in the franchise will be a prequel. The origins of Agent 47 will be explored. Also, two people, off-screen, are talking about Agent 47, and his past training. It leads towards the idea that he has been watched by more than just one shadowy organization.
