Pack your bags as it is time to visit The White Lotus for season 2 this October, as Variety has reported. The anthology series will be set in a different location for the hotel chain, with this second outing being in Sicily. Jennifer Coolidge will be the only returning star as she reprises her whole as the anxiety-inducing socialite Tanya McQuoid.
Mike White (School of Rock) created the series where he writes, and executive produces. Coolidge will be met with new stars this time around for guests and hotel staffers. The newcomers will be F. Murray Abraham, Adam DiMarco (The Order), Tom Hollander (Pride & Prejudice), Michael Imperioli (The Many Saints of Newark), Aubrey Plaza, Haley Lu Richardson (Split), Theo James (Castlevania), Meghann Fahy (The Bold Type), Will Sharpe (Flowers), and Leo Woodall (Cherry). White returns to write and direct.
White Lotus season 2 release date for this October
White Lotus returning in October is great timing for it to get plenty of eyeballs from previous fans and people who missed out on the buzz from its debut season. The Emmys will be on September 12, and the series has been nominated for 20 awards for its first season. Among the nominations, Coolidge and some of her costars are nominated. White is in the running for writing and directing.
Following a group of travelers visiting the White Lotus hotel in Hawaii, the first season followed all sorts of weirdness, awkwardness, drama, and death. The bar has been set for both absurdity and success for the next season. On top of its Emmy nominations, HBO Max struck gold with the anthology series. Its finale had 1.9 million viewers and continued to grow from there. Between its self-absorbed characters, a mystery casket showed in the pilot, and all of the hilarity that accompanied the drama gathered plenty of chatter that spread the word of mouth about the series.
