Want to know how to see footsteps in Fortnite? Hearing a player’s steps is one of the essential aspects of winning any battle royale game, and Fortnite is no exception. To hear the enemy’s footsteps behind the wall or at a great distance, many players put on high-quality headphones and make the game sounds louder. And what about players who cannot buy good headphones or, for some reason, cannot play with sound? The developers of Fortnite found a solution and added a feature to the game through which you can see footsteps and other in-game sound effects. To enable this feature, you must go to the Fortnite settings and follow a few simple steps. Our guide will help you with this and tell you how to see footsteps in Fortnite.

How to See Footsteps in Fortnite

In addition to the reasons we described earlier, there are many other situations when you should see the enemy’s footsteps. Even if you play with sound, this will help you better navigate and notice the enemy in time. Since you might think it’s just a breeze, but by seeing the little step icons, you can be sure it’s the player. In addition, the visualization of footstep sounds will help you better navigate during hot battles. Also, this function is great for beginners who do not know what sound means.

Among other things, perhaps someone wants to play while listening to their favorite music without being distracted by extraneous sounds. And in such a situation, seeing footsteps can be very handy. But whatever the reason, here’s what you should do to see footsteps in Fortnite:

  1. Launch Fortnite.
  2. Click on the three bars in the top left corner of the main menu.
  3. Open “Settings” by clicking on the gear icon in the lower-left corner of the opens menu.
  4. Next, go to the Audio tab by clicking on the speaker icon at the top of the screen.
  5. In the Sound section, find the Visualize Sound Effects item and switch it to ON.

Once you follow all these simple steps, you can launch any game mode and test this feature in practice. In addition to the ability to see footsteps, you will see the chest’s location, find out from which side the shots are heard, and much more. We strongly recommend you enable this feature and never disable it, as it will help you in many game situations.
