Ahead of its October release, it has been announced that Halloween Ends will hit theaters and Peacock at the same time. The duel premiere will cast a wide net and give people options to see Laurie Strode’s final battle with the masked killer Michael Myers. The slasher will make its debut on October 14.

David Gordon Green returns at the helm to direct the third of the current trilogy. Technically a quadrilogy as 2018’s Halloween marked a sequel to the original film by John Carpenter, essentially erasing the long list of sequels that spanned for decades and creating the definitive story between Michael and Laurie. Halloween Ends will see a time jump from the previous film, Kills. While Kills was an immediate follow-up after the 2018 film, this latest installment goes ahead four years as we see the aftermath of Michael’s last slaughter and what will lead to a final duel between him and the iconic final girl-now-woman.

Halloween Ends to premiere on Peacock and in theaters at the same time

The move to make Halloween Ends a day-and-date release in theaters, and Peacock shows the success it had for Kills, which was released the same way. The second in the Green-directed entries grossed $131 million worldwide. Numbers for the streaming platform were not given, but it must have been enough to do the same for this year’s film.

Halloween Ends will star Jamie Lee Curtis as she ends her long run as Laurie Strode. It also sees the final return of Nick Castle as The Shape aka Michael Myers, with some scenes performed by James Judge Courtney, who took on the mask for some scenes in the previous two films. Kyle Richards from the 1978 original also reprises her role as Lindsey. It will also star Will Patton (Outer Range), Andi Matichak (Halloween 2018 and Kills), and Rohan Campbell (Virgin River).
