Less than a month after the filing by Jane Doe, the child sex abuse lawsuit against Tiffany Haddish has ended. The multi-claim complaint filed in Los Angeles Superior Court was dropped by the plaintiff, with a dismissal with prejudice, putting an end to the case against The Afterparty star and comedian Aries Spears.

“My family and I have known Tiffany Haddish for many years – and we now know that she would never harm me or my brother or help anyone else do anything that could harm us,” Doe said in a statement. “We wish Tiffany the best and are glad that we can all put this behind us.”

Tiffany Haddish, or her representatives, did not make a statement about the child sex abuse lawsuit being dropped. It is unclear if there was a settlement.

The child sex abuse lawsuit against Tiffany Haddish started only a few weeks ago. A self-representing Jane Doe came forward on August 27 with multiple accusations toward the rising star and the comedian Spears. A video, Through a Pedophile’s Eyes, the comedy sketch that involved alleged grooming and molestation.

On September 5, Tiffany Haddish addressed the child sex abuse claims, and the lawsuit that followed said claims from Jane Doe and John Doe, with Jane being 14 at the time of the video’s creation and John being 7. The Afterparty star could not give too many details but wrote on Instagram that the sketch was “intended to be comedic, it wasn’t funny at all.” She admitted that she “deeply regret having agreed to act in it.”

It was revealed by her former attorney, Andrew Brettler, that multiple lawyers had taken the case and would drop it since the “claims were meritless.”

On September 9, after the case moved to federal court in California, Tiffany Haddish had a new team of lawyers for the lawsuit. Soon after, a majority of the case was sealed, mostly because of the graphic content of the images that pertained to the case. On September 16, a joint letter was placed on the docket from both sides for a permanent seal. Now, the case is officially closed.
