The South African comedian, who at 38 is the youngest working late-night host, was almost unknown when he took over for Jon Stewart onย The Daily Show. While his first two years garnered some scrutiny, he gained a rating bump and major awards clout when Donald Trump was elected president in 2016. Noah called that election night, which he called “Hurricane Trump,” the moment he came into his own and stopped feeling like Stewart’s replacement.
