This Wednesday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City was emotional for Whitney Rose as she talked about her childhood abuse experience. It started with her receiving disturbing information from her half-brother, Will. He informed her through a phone call that she was abused as a child.
Will discovered this through his Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) journey before calling her. Before Will’s call, Whitney was undergoing therapy too.
She spoke to her husband, Justin, about it amidst tears, telling him how she doesn’t remember any of it. Justin had to comfort his wife to stop crying. Whitney Rose then faced the cameras to talk about her childhood abuse experience.
She stated that she blocked out the majority of her childhood. Family members have also played a vast role in her healing process. As part of the process, she’s reliving those suppressed memories, which come with so much pain and anger. In her words:
“All of those memories that I suppressed are all flowing through me now. And there’s just so much pain. I’m feeling so much pain and so much anger. And it just feels very overwhelming to take this all on right now.”
Whitney Rose couldn’t talk about much of her childhood abuse experience with her husband. But other housewives could relate better on their group trip to Scottsdale.

The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City took a trip to Scottsdale, Arizona. The businesswoman and Lisa Barlow were among the early birds, so they got talking. Whitney Rose then shared details about her childhood abuse experience with her co-star.
She pointed out why she blocked out a large part of her childhood, especially between ages 8 to 17. Her co-star, Barlow, also shared how she also went through hard times growing up.
Whitney Rose got more comfortable talking about her experience when other housewives arrived. They had an emotional session with a shaman, and she disclosed that she’s been battling this trauma for almost a year now.
