The A24-Apple movie Causeway released a trailer (seen below), which shows Jennifer Lawrence leading in this drama about PTSD. The film will have a limited theatrical release along with global streaming distribution on Apple TV+ on November 4.
In Causeway, Jennifer Lawrence plays Lynsey, a U.S. soldier returning from Afghanistan with brain damage. The film will follow her as she tries to adjust back to civilian life. She will not be alone as she leans on her friend James, played by Brian Tyree Henry (Bullet Train), for support. Other supporting cast includes Linda Emond (Lodge 49), Jayne Houdyshell (Only Murders in the Building), Stephen McKinley Henderson (Dune), Frederick Weller (BlacKkKlansman), and Russell Harvard (Fargo).

From directing some TV with Room 104 and Maid, Lila Neugebauer makes her directorial debut with Causeway starring Jennifer Lawrence. The script was penned by first-time screenwriters Elizabeth Sanders, Ottessa Moshfegh, and Luke Goebel. Joshua Bachlove, Kirk Michael Fellows, Jacob Jaffke, Sophia Lin, Neugebauer, and Christopher Surgent executive produce. The Hunger Games star produces with Ed Wasserman, Grace Potter, Jeffrey Penman, Louise Lovegrove, and Justine Ciarrocchi produce.
The Oscar-winner’s upcoming film is already getting some Oscar buzz as it lands in the right season to nab some awards. She previously won for her performance in David O. Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook. She was also nominated for Joy, American Hustle, and Winter’s Bone.
Before Causeway, Jennifer Lawrence was last seen in last year’s Don’t Look Up. Next year, she will star in the comedy No Hard Feelings, and after that, she will be in the Adam McKay drama Bad Blood. Meanwhile, her Eternals co-star was in this year’s Bullet Train with Brad Pitt and in the latest season of Atlanta. He will also star in next year’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and The Magician’s Elephant.
