The HBO comedy-drama anthology The White Lotus season 2 released a trailer (seen below), giving us a taste of more drama, drugs, and murder. The Emmy-winning series returns with a new cast consisting of Aubrey Plaza, Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos), F. Murray Abraham (Moon Knight), Will Sharpe (Flowers), Theo James (Castlevania), and Haley Lu Richardson (Split). Jennifer Coolidge and Jon Gries (Dream Corp LLC) will reprise their roles from the first season.
The series hops between different locations of the hotel chain of the same name as the show. Like the first season, we will follow eccentric wealthy people on vacation that turns sour as the drama kicks up. In the trailer released by HBO for The White Lotus shows the tensions between new characters, lust for prostitutes, a gun, and a body bag. Also seen is trouble for the characters played by Coolidge and Gries as she suspects him of cheating on her. The first outing was set at a Hawaii resort, and now we turn to Sicily, Italy.
The White Lotus season 2 trailer released by HBO reveals plenty of drama
While the Hawaii outing was six episodes, season 2 of the HBO series The White Lotus will be seven episodes, giving us an extra hour of chaos. Creator Mike White is back at writing and directing the anthology. He executive produces with David Bernad and Mark Kamine.
HBO found The White Lotus to be a huge hit. On top of getting the viewership to green lit another season and won 10 of its 20 Emmy nominations. Some of the wins include Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, Outstanding Directing for a Limited or Anthology Series (White), and acting awards for Coolidge and Murray Bartlett (Tales of the City).
HBO will debut The White Lotus season 2 on its platform on Sunday, October 30 at 9 p.m. ET. It will be available to stream on HBO Max.
