The official YouTube Channel for Pokémon revealed a new trailer for the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This lengthy video takes you through the adventure of four different trainers while unveiling new information. These reveals include new features such as TM crafting and picnics. The trailer also shows the Pokémon Farigiraf, a new evolution for Girafarig.

Features Revealed in the New Trailer

The trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet reveals a few new major features. The first is TM crafting. This will allow the player to craft their own TMs, using materials gained from capturing or defeating Pokémon. This is done with a TM machine.

The second new feature for the 9th generation of Pokémon allows the trainer to have a picnic with their Pokémon. While having a picnic, you can clean up your Pokémon, allow them to play ball with each other, and create a sandwich for you and your companions. The sandwich you eat can give you a number of benefits, such as making a certain type of Pokémon easier to catch or allowing your Pokémon to gain more experience. Occasionally you can even find an egg during your picnic.

One more feature being added is the Camera App. This will allow you to take pictures of anything you would like or take selfies. These can even be taken during picnics to have a picture with your Pokémon party.

While there have been many details about the Terastallizing feature in battle, it’s been revealed that wild Pokémon are capable of this transformation as well. While exploring, you can find Pokémon that have a yellow glow around them. This is a sign that they will be able to Terastalize in battle. Once you deal enough damage to them, you will knock them out of this form.

Pokémon Farigiraf Revealed

Along with the new features in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, a new evolution for Girafarig was revealed. This new form is called Farigiraf, and it appears that the tail and head have combined into one. The new evolution is titled the Long Neck Pokémon, and it retains its Normal and Psychic types from its previous form. It weighs 352.7 lbs. and has a height of 10’6″.

While Farigiraf was the only new Pokémon officially revealed, we can get a glimpse at a few other new ones via the mini-map at one point in the trailer. We can see what appears to be a white mouse, a green bird, and a mushroom-shaped Pokémon. As these are just brief looks at them, there is no other information about what these new Pokémon are.

The rest of the trailer just shows more of what we know already in action. This includes the various main stories, the Let’s Go command (which will send your main Pokémon out to battle on its own), Tera Raid Battles, and more.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are set to release on November 18, 2022, as a Nintendo Switch exclusive. With the release so close, we will hopefully get a better look at some of the version exclusive Pokémon to help players decide which version to get.
