Weapons featured in Warhammer 40K: Darktide comes with a variety of stats. From the more obvious ones like Damage and Reload Speed to obscure ones like Finesse. We can’t properly engage the army of Chaos if we don’t know how our weapons work, right? For that reason, this article will discuss one of the essential stats in Warhammer 40K: Darktide, Finesse.

Just like Vermintide, Fatshark’s latest horde shooter game also features a number of unique, or confusing, stat names. In Warhammer 40K: Darktide, the Finesse stat refers to Critical hits. This means Finesse affects the weapon’s critical chance, critical damage, and even attack speed as a bonus.

Like critical hits in most games, damaging particular weak points of an enemy will deal higher damage. The higher your weapon’s Finesse Stat, the more devastating any Headshot or Weak Point damage it will dish out.

Only single-target weapons come with Finesse, as they’re specialized for dealing with Specials, Elites, and Bosses enemies in Warhammer 40K: Darktide. Melee weapons that are designed for crowd control won’t have it. For example, a Power Weapon Chainsword is suited for dealing with Trapper or Mauler, so it will have Finesse. Meanwhile, a Shovel that’s categorized as Crowd Control doesn’t come with the stat.

Below are the basic explanations for all your weapon’s base stats in Warhammer 40K: Darktide. By base stats, it means this list does not include class-specific stats like Warp Resistance:

  • Ammo: Magazine size for guns.
  • Cleave Damage: How much damage is received by the enemies pierced or penetrated.
  • Damage: Overall relative damage of your weapon.
  • Defenses: The amount of stamina used when Blocking and pushing enemies.
  • Finesse: Critical hits or headshot and weak point damage multiplier.
  • First Target: Damage done to the first enemy hit by the weapon.
  • Mobility: Dodge distance and the number of dodges you can do in succession.
  • Penetration/Cleave Targets: The weapon’s penetrating or piercing power. Affects how many enemies can be hit with with a single attack.
  • Reload Speed: How the gun can be reloaded.
  • Stability: Recoil and/or Aim Down Sight sway control.
  • Stopping Power: Stun effect for each hit.
