God of War Ragnarok is much bigger than the previous title in the series, especially in terms of regions and locations. Not only that, but there are many side quests you can complete as well some of which require the player to go back to locations from the beginning of the game. Sverd Sands is one of the locations you get rather early in the game, and here is the guide on how to get to Sverd Sands in God of War Ragnarok.

(Updated on August 22, 2024 – Updated links).

How to Get to Sverd Sands in God of War Ragnarok

When you complete The Quest for Tyr, you will reach Sverd Sands rather early on in the game. Once you free Tyr, you and he will leave The Applecore with a lift, and then you will find yourself at Sverd Sands.

In there, you have to defeat some enemies and use the chain ferry to reach the Aurvangar Wetlands Mystic Gateway. At this point, you cannot use the ferry once again to go back to Sverd Sands. However, once you’ve completed the Groa’s Secret goal on The Path quest line, you will be able to go back to Sverd Sands.

Once you’ve completed Groa’s Secret, you have to go back to the Aurvangar Wetlands. Once you’ve got there, instead of heading on to the boat, turn left to the wooden jetty and use the chain ferry you once used to get from Sverd Sands to Wetlands.

Once you’ve got to the Sverd Sands, you can explore the area more thoroughly to get every item you can, find any secret you might have missed, and much more. If you want to go back to The Applecore, you also have to use Sverd Sands.

Later in the game, a part of A Viking Funeral side quest takes place in Sverd Sands. So if you want to complete that quest as well, this way you can reach the Sverd Sands.
