Vali, the Oath Guard Location in God of War Ragnarok
You will find Vali, the Oath Guard, in The Plains in Vanahein during the For Vanaheim favor. This task will require you to save Birgir, another traveler.
Once in The Plains, you will see a glowing chest at its northernmost end.
As you approach the chest, two Shadows will appear. You first need to deal with them before Vali, the Oath Guard fight begins.
Vali, the Oath Guard Fight Guide
Vali, the Oath Guard, is a Traveler, and like all other Travelers you will encounter while traversing the nine plains, this one is a slow but formidable opponent.
This Path follower wields a deadly two-handed sword that can strike you down in just a couple of blows, in addition to magical abilities.
You will quickly attack this big guy with Draupnir Spear, as you can attack it from a distance and cause some damage from mid-range attacks.
Vali, the Oath Guard, will first attack you with slow sword swings; these can be easily dodged and parried. Use the light runic attacks with the Relics to cause damage to Vali.
Try to fill up his stun bar as quickly as possible and then shoot Sigil Arrows. Time your attacks in the later stages of the fight since Vali has unblockable moves that kill almost instantly. These include heavy sword slams and thrusting it into the ground, relating a wave of magical energy. Your best option is to dodge these.
Furthermore, Vali, the Oath Guard, will raise its skull and smash it to the ground to release magical energy across the area causing massive damage.
By this time, you will want to start using Heavy Runic attacks for any weapon, but we suggest you focus on Draupnir Spear and maybe Spartan Rage.
Continue to dodge and attack in sequences until you delete his health bar. All you need to do now is to choose one of several Finisher moves to end this eponymous battle.
After the fight is done, you will receive the following:
- Kratos XP – 3073
- Atreus XP – 586
- Folkvangr Whetstone – 1
- Bonded Leather – 5
- Hacksilver – 202
- Lore Scroll [The Path of Lies]
