Ting-Lu is among the new Pokémon you can catch in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. As a Legendary Pokémon, it’s clear why players want to add one to their bag. However, you can’t just go to a specific region for Ting-Lu to spawn like most Pokémon. Rather, you have to free them from their confinement. We’ll show you how to find a free Ting-Lu so you can catch this legendary creature.

(Updated on August 22, 2024 – Updated links).

Where to Find Ting-Lu in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Ting-Lu is a Dark/Ground-type who is a member of the Ruinous Quartet, a group of Legendary Pokémon sealed away in different shrines. The personification of fear, Ting-Lu, is located at the Groundblight Shrine. This is within the West Province areas. More specifically, it sits north of Casseroya Lake. Look for the yellow door.

You can only access this area during the post-game. So, if you want to find and catch Ting-Lu in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you must beat the main storyline first.

Ting-Lu is locked away like the other Ruinous Quartet. So, to free them, you need to interact with 8 Green Ominous Stakes scattered in different locations.

When you do, know that Ting-Lu is at Level 60. They are not easy to beat, but seeing that you only encounter them post-game, you should hopefully be ready.

Once you catch Ting-Lu in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you can enjoy the following stats for them:

  • HP: 155
  • Attack: 110
  • Defense: 125
  • Special Attack: 55
  • Special Defense: 80
  • Speed: 45

If you happen to defeat them, they will respawn in the same place, so you don’t have to go through a long process to try and catch them again.
