Jedis, bounty hunters, droids, and traitors rejoice! Star Wars: The Force Awakensย is set to hit Blu-Rayย this April! Earlier today, Amazon notified
Earlier today, Amazonย contactedย customers that have pre-ordered the sci-fi epic that they will receive their copy on April 5th. Priced at a $19.99 there is no news if this will include either a DVD copy or a Digital HD version of the film. Special features have also not been announced so there is no information if this Blu-Ray will just include the film alone. However, what we do know is that there will be no extended version ofย Star Wars: The Force Awakensย available. In an interview a couple weeks back, director J.J. Abrams explained the length of the film’s original cut.
“I donโt know what the longest cut was. Probably, if it were with credits, close to two hours and 50 minutes was the first cut.” Abrams went on stating,ย “Itโs two years of very intense work by a lot of people. Iโm so happy with the work that people did, even the people you donโt see in the movie, like the puppeteers, I watched them in 120 degrees heat in Abu Dhabi bring BB-8 to life, and then we (use of CGI) them out of the movie, and Iโm just so happy people get to see what they did.”ย Star Wars: The Force Awakens will, however, includeย deleted scenes that were taken out of the film, so hopefully they can fill in some of the story gaps that were left unanswered.
Make sure to pre-order your copy ofย Star Wars: The Force Awakens,ย releasing on Blu-Ray April 5th
