Season 22 of The Voice has come to an end and a winner has been announced out of the participating teams. It wasn’t an easy one but it went to Bryce Leatherwood!
The 22-year-old Statesboro, Georgia-based star was crowned the winner of the competition on Tuesday night. This win marks Blake Shelton’s ninth victory as a coach.
Leatherwood’s win is even more remarkable because Shelton will be working away from the NBC singing competition for the first time in 11 years after the next season. Before the current winner of The Voice season 22 was announced, he had to beat his fellow team Shelton contestants.
These contestants include Camila Cabello’s Morgan Myles, team John Legend’s Omar Jose Cardona and team Blake Shelton’s Bryce Leatherwood, Bodie and Brayden Lape. Beating opponents as tough as this isn’t an easy feat. Congratulations Bryce Leatherwood!

Bryce Leatherwood Announced the Winner Of The Voice Season 22 After Performing With Blake Shelton
Bryce Leatherwood and Blake Shelton performed the coach’s hit song “Hillbilly Bone.” The connection between the duo during their performance hinted massively that the cap fits Leatherwood, and he indeed wore it.
Leatherwood won the coaches over in the semifinals after his rendition of Justin Moore’s “If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away.” The performance got his coach and Shelton’s wife, Gwen Stefani, on their feet.
Stefani admitted that it really moved her to see Shelton get up and get so excited at Leatherwood’s performance. She further stated that the 22-year-old is authentic, classical, old school, and possesses other qualities of a country singer.
At that point, the winner of The Voice season 22 already knew himself even before it was announced in the finals. Stefani also told Leatherwood that he had a crazy sort of star quality and stage presence and she thinks America could see it.
Blake concurred and pointed Bryce toward the season 22 finale which he just won. The 22-year-old winner’s grandfather grew up on his grandfather’s farm listening to country music in Woodstock Georgia.
Currently, he’s a business student at Georgia Southern University. He started playing music in the college bar scene before he was announced as the winner of The Voice season 22.
The show will return for Blake’s 23rd and final season in 2023!
