The Largemouth Bass is a fish in Stardew Valley that players must catch for a variety of activities, including Town Board Quests, cooking recipes, and the Fish Tank Bundle at the Community Center. For instance, farmers will need to get this fish for “Fish Casserole,” a 4-Heart quest with Jodi. As for recipes, Maki Rolls, Sashimi, and Quality Fertilizer can be made using any fish type, but Crispy Bass specifically requires the Largemouth Bass. While it is not as rare as the Sturgeon or Pufferfish in Stardew Valley, players still might struggle to catch this bass variant if they do not know where to catch it.

To catch the Largemouth Bass fish in Stardew Valley, players must head to the mountain lake, the body of water located in the area north of Pelican Town. This is the same location where farmers will find Robin’s home and the entrance to the mines.

Based on footage by YouTuber olayux, the Largemouth Bass in Stardew Valley can be caught by fishing from the small island near the center of the mountain lake. While this is a prime fishing spot, it is not necessary since this bass variant can be caught from any area in the lake. Moreover, the Stardew Valley Wiki states that the Largemouth Bass can be encountered all year round but has a slightly higher chance of spawning during Spring and Fall compared to Summer and Winter. Keep in mind that it is most likely able to be caught between 6 am and 7 pm in-game time.

Suppose players are having trouble catching the Largemouth Bass in Stardew Valley at the mountain lake location. In that case, it is recommended that they attempt casting their line into the deeper waters of the lake. The Largemouth Bass tends to appear in waters away from the shores, but its spawn rate is still dependent on RNG. Catching this fish is not difficult, but those who struggle with the fishing minigame are encouraged to buy an upgraded fishing rod at Willy’s shop by the pier south of Pelican Town. For example, the Fiberglass Rod costs 1,800 and is an excellent tool to acquire after reaching Fishing Level 3.

Stardew Valley is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, iOS, Android, and PC.
