Elden Ring was one of the most anticipated games of 2022, and once it came out, players and critics couldn’t get enough of it. By far, it has won the most Game of the Year awards this year, including The Game Awards. Elden Ring gives players the freedom to choose how they play their game, but there are certain things that every player will use. One of them is Torment or the horse you ride in the game, and here is how to summon it in Elden Ring.

How to Summon Your Horse in Elden Ring

Your horse in Elden Ring, which is known as Torment, will play a huge part in your journey. Whether you end up fighting enemies that are mounted or just too big or simply trying to travel from one location to another, Torment will help you.

While you get Torment rather early in the game, you have to play a little before getting access to it. After you get into the Lands Between and have wandered around a little bit, make your way toward the Garefront Ruins Site of Grace.

Sites of Grace are basically Elden Ring‘s bonfire that has the shape of a yellow glowing thing that you can activate and rest there. Once you reach the Garefront Ruins, one of the main characters of the game, Melina will appear.

Once you meet her, she will give you the Spectral Steed Whistle, which can be used to summon your horse, Torment. It will appear in your Key Items, and you can equip it in the Equipment menu as a quick item, like the flasks you carry.

After that, select the Spectral Steed Whistle (the bottom item on the left of the screen) and then hit the button you use to drink the flask, but this time, it will blow into the whistle and summon Torment. To dismount Torment, simply click the LS/L3 button on your controller.

Bear in mind, it is definitive that you will meet Melina at the Gatefront Ruins Site of Grace, but reaching the Gatefront, she will come by in the next Site of Grace.

Elden Ring is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
