In a media release sent out today by developer Frontier Developments, we not only got the prices but also details regarding how the pseudo-expansion will work. Players who already own the game will not need to purchase Arena. Otherwise known as CQC (Close Quarters Combat) in the game, Arena is the CQC component of the game already released.
“Players who buy Elite Dangerous: Arena and later choose to enter the epic Elite Dangerous galaxy will receive the full cost of Elite Dangerous: Arena off the price of Elite Dangerous: Deluxe Edition.”
The best space fighters will have the chance to win $100,000 in Frontier’s Close Quarters Combat Championship tournament. Players can earn their spot by participating in designated heats held throughout the spring and summer.
