Bells chime with the jingle of good fortune, but they aren’t the only currency worthy of song in New Horizons. Poki is the exclusive currency of Paradise Planning in the Happy Home Paradise DLC. If you have your eye on procuring resources for renovation or shopping in Wardell’s Catalog, it’s Poki you’ll need. Lottie, Nintendo‘s lovable river otter who helps run Paradise Planning, will offer a fixed amount for expanding residency on the archipelago. If you want more Poki for renovations, however, you’ll need to convert Poki into Bells in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Converting Poki to Bells in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
(Updated on September 3, 2024 – updated intro, guide steps, and links)
The long grind to a three-star rating is far from the only hill to climb in New Horizons. There are a few conditions you’ll need to meet before you can freely exchange the game’s two major currencies. Here’s what you need to do:
- Complete the development of 23 vacation homes in the expansion’s archipelago
- Visit the Paradise Planning office on two separate (real-time) days
- Speak with Lottie to get access to the Automated Bell and Poki Dispenser (ABPD)
- Use the ABPD to convert currencies
There are some important things to know when converting Poki to Bells in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. First, the exchange limit for currency is 15,000 Poki a day. Even if you have millions of Bells to spend, you can only exchange up to 15,000 Poki within 24 hours. The ABPD’s exchange values also vary from day to day. On some days, you can receive 100 Poki for 200 Bells, while on others you might get 100 Poki for 333 Bells. Always check the exchange rate before converting to avoid getting short-changed. Tom Nook’s putting enough strain on the economy.
