Remember the ending to Alan Wake? All the questions we had as gamers as we witness our beloved writer “sacrificed” himself so that his wife could be free. Do you remember the pain and anguish you felt when we all heard that another Alan Wake would not be made? Well, it seems like Remedy has finally gotten tired of my letters flooding their offices and are on the Fastlane towards a new game for our darkness hunting writer.

You can see it in the image below that Remedy has taken quick action to register a trademark for “Alan Wake Returns.” Is the title a bit on the nose? Possibly, but given how meta the game is and the fact that we’re dealing with a writer, the title could work.

Alan Wake

The provided gamers with a unique gameplay experience as they experienced events the character had written, occasionally stumbling across fragments of the story to give players a sneak peek of what was to come. If Alan Wake Returns manages to retain the magic of the original  and add enough new spice to not have a be just another copy, I think we might have another great game in our future.

Since the trademark for “Alan Wake Returns” was registered in such a hurry could it be possible the game is already in development? The gamer response with Fallout 4 after it became available only a few months after it was announced was outstanding. Could Remedy be planning to do the same with Alan Wake?

If you’re a fan and have your own theory as to what Alan Wake might be facing next let us know. Do you think the game is just around the corner or is this some sort of red herring by Remedy?

Luis is a generally great person to be around with unfortunately with his sense of humor you never know when he's being serious. He plays enough video games to consider himself more than a novice and possibly watches too much tv.
