With season six of Game of Thrones rapidly approaching (April 24th is the first episode), HBO’s hype train has been out in full force. Anticipation for season six seems even higher than normal since this will be the first season without a book guiding the action. For once, everyone is on a level playing field as far as where everyone’s story is headed. The posters HBO just released continue to play off of those unknowns and go right along with the trailer released earlier this month. These posters seem to delight in the fact that Game of Thrones is a show where no one is safe, offering up these veiled threats for your favorite character to wind up dead. Check them out:

Joffrey, Catelyn Stark, Tyrion, Ned Stark, Arya, Jaime Lannister
Joffrey Baratheon, Catelyn Stark, Tyrion Lannister, Ned Stark, Arya Stark, Jaime Lannister
Game of Thrones - Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Sansa Stark, Robb Stark, Oberyn Martell, Cersei Lannister
Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Sansa Stark, Robb Stark, Oberyn Martell, Cersei Lannister

Some characters that are long dead, others that may or may not be dead, and some that are very much alive. The pictures, like the trailer, depict the Hall of Faces, located in the House of Black and White. This is a shrine to the god of death, and it is where the Faceless Men (and Arya Stark) train their reality manipulation. By putting all these characters together in the place where only the dead wind up, HBO seems to be making a threat. “Don’t get too attached. Your favorite could die in the next episode!”

We will have plenty of information to keep the anticipation rising. And, once the season starts, we will have our weekly episode reviews. If you need a refresher before April 24th, here’s our review of the season five finale, “Mother’s Mercy.”

Excited for the return of Game of Thrones? Is Jon Snow still alive? Stannis Baratheon? Who will be the next major character to wind up in the Hall of Faces? Let us know!
