Netflix has renewed That ’90s Show for season 2 for more nostalgic fun. The next outing will up the number of episodes from the 10-episode first season to 16 episodes for its sophomore season.
The That ’70s Show spinoff has been a major hit for the streamer. That ’90s Show had its first season drop on Netflix on January 19. It launched in the Top 10 English TV series at number five in 35 countries from its 41 million hours viewed.
The series takes place in 1995 and follows Leia Forman (Callie Haverda) as she visits her grandparents in Point Place. She finds a group of friends for fun adventures. She convinces her parents to let her stay in Point Place for the summer to extend her fun with her new group of pals.

The series brought new and old faces to the newcomers and long-time fans of the original sitcom. It brings back Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp as Red and Kitty Forman. The new generation of basement-dwelling teens consists of Haverda (The Lost Husband), Ashley Aufderheide (Emergence), Mace Coronel (Borrasca), Reyn Doi (Side Hustle), Sam Morelos (Forgetting Nobody), and Maxwell Acee Donovan (Gabby Duran & The Unsittables). For guest stars, Netflix brought other stars from the original series to That ’90s Show with Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Wilmer Valderrama, and Tommy Chong.
The series was met with a respectable response from critics and fans. While people flocked to watch, its reviews on Rotten Tomatoes have solid scores on both fronts, with 76% (critics) and 73% (audiences). The series delivered the easy-to-grab nostalgia while having something fresh with its new cast and its setting.
That ’90s Show is available to watch on Netflix. No timeline has been set for when the second season should be expected.
