Your only weapon in the Wizarding World of Hogwarts Legacy is your stick and all the spells you have learned. The more spells you know, the higher your of chances you being the master of each fight. Petrificus Totalus is among the many spells you can learn in Hogwarts Legacy, and here is how to unlock and cast it in the game.

How to Unlock and Cast Petrificus Totalus in Hogwarts Legacy

In Hogwarts Legacy, the spell of Patrificus Totalus is considered a stealth kill spell, but actually, it’s not a deadly spell, at least not in the lore. Patrificus Totalus is a petrification spell that will make the person unable to move or speak and basically turn him into a stone-like state.

As for how you unlock Patrificus Totalus, you have to wait until reaching the main quest of Secrets of the Restricted Section. In this quest, you will have to enter the Restricted Section of Hogwarts library and since you don’t want any unnecessary attention, a stealthy spell is all you need.

Since this is a main quest, you will eventually complete it; therefore, you can’t miss the Patrificus Totalus spell. But casting it properly requires a little bit more work.

The first step of using Patrificus Totalus is not to be seen. How do you do that? It’s simple. You need to use the Disillusionment spell to hide from plain view or basically become invisible, and then you will be able to cast Patrificus Totalus.

Don’t worry, you will also learn this spell in the Secrets of the Restricted Section quest. Once you’ve cast the Disillusionment spell, sneak up on an enemy and once you get close you will be prompted to use Petrificus Totalus.

When prompted, press X on Xbox Controller, Circle on the PlayStation controller, and F on the keyboard if you haven’t changed the layout. After successfully casting the spell, the enemy won’t be a problem anymore and you will also remain invisible to continue your work.
