Before taking on a tough Raid Boss with other Trainers in Pokemon Go, Mega Evolving one of your combatants with Mega Energy could be a game changer. The reason is that your allies in the Raid will receive a damage buff, boosting their Pokemon’s attacks. If you’re in a group of six or more Trainers, that buff can total a massive amount of damage. Granted, most of the time when I participate in 5-Star or Mega Raids, somebody already has Mega Evolved for the team. Nevertheless, understanding how to earn Mega Energy for this special Evolution is important in Pokemon Go if you don’t know how.
How To Earn Pokemon Go Mega Energy
There are three ways to get Pokemon Go Mega Energy:
- Achieving victory in a Mega Raid
- Walking with a Buddy that has Mega Evolved or is in the Evolutionary Line of a Pokemon that has Mega Evolved prior
- Fulfilling specific Research Tasks and quests
The first two methods will be your primary means of earning Mega Energy, as the rewards are certain. If you defeat a specific Mega Raid Boss, you will, in turn, receive their energy in the rewards screen. Likewise, walking with a Pokemon of a previously Mega Evolved Evolutionary Line will net you energy as well, albeit at a slow pace.
You can if you’ve Mega Evolved a Pokemon prior by opening its profile and checking the upper-left side of the screen; if the colorful Mega Level icon appears, you can earn Mega Energy by Buddy-walking.ย
While completing Research Tasks can be rewarding on its own with all the XP, Eggs, Berries, Encounters, and whatever else you receive, questing to farm for energy is not ideal.ย Pokemon Goย is often random and unpredictable with its events and activities. If you’re trying to farm energy for a specific Pokemon, you best just Buddy-walk instead or grind said pocket monster’s Mega Raid whenever it comes up.ย
