Where to Find Lightstone and Mirror Stone in Wild Hearts

Valuable rocks, indeed

Like most free-roaming action and hunting games such as Monster Hunter, crafting materials are also essential items in your adventure in Minato, the setting of Wild Hearts. At first, you can easily find Corestones to upgrade your basic weapons and armor. But afterward, you will need more advanced materials such as the Mirror Stone and Lightstone. This Wild Heart guide will help you find the Lightstone and Mirror Stone upgrade materials.

Mirror Stone can be found once you have reached Chapter 2 of Wild Hearts and unlocked the Akikure Canyon. The item can be obtained from yellow nodes on cliff walls and rock faces; Mirror Stone nodes can usually be found in the northeastern (upper right) region of the Canyon, specifically the Gingko Forest, Buddha Cave, and Winter Solstice Cavern.

While the resource nodes all have fixed locations, they won’t always appear there at the same time. Veteran Monster Hunter players who have been playing at least since Tri should be familiar with these “semi-random” node mechanics.

Meanwhile, for Lightstone, you need to play through Chapter 2 a bit further until you reach the snowy Fuyufusagi Fort area. More often than not, you can find the orange resource nodes outside of the town or in the eastern part of the map, in the forest region.

Aside from gathering them with your own hands, you can also collect materials through the use of the Tsukumo Ore Shrine Dragon Karakuri, which is unlocked in Chapter 3. This Dragon Karakuri can be placed at a Camp or a Dragon Pit (the energy pool surrounded by red tendrils) and will automatically collect any local Ore types.

Build one at Akikure Canyon and Fuyufusagi Fort and leave them for a few minutes. Once you get back to them and they read, “Collected: 5/5 Materials”, the Tsukumo Ore Shrines have harvested Mirror Stones, Lightstones, and all the Ores they can. Sure, each Shrine can only give you five items at a time, but it’s better than nothing and will add up fast if you check it often.
