If you were a kid of the nineties, you had loads of awesome cartoons to watch on Saturday mornings when your parents were still in bed. But you also had two awesome shows to watch, starring one Melissa Joan Hart; ‘Clarissa Explains It All’ and ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’.
Well, now, kids of the twenty-first century may get to enjoy these two amazing characters as Melissa Joan Hart has revealed that she’s in talks about rebooting the two shows.
With Xena being rebooted, we probably shouldn’t be surprised that other classic nineties shows like Clarissa and Sabrina are being considered. However, there is something to consider.
‘Clarissa Explains It All’ had the titular character break the fourth wall as she commented on the trials and challenges of growing up with her hippie parents and irritating younger brother Ferguson.
Meanwhile, Sabrina the Teenage Witch had Melissa Joan Hart playing the titular witch; a high school student who lives with her aunts as she learns to be a witch.
The issue is, while actors often play high school children in their twenties, Melissa Joan Hart is thirty-nine. So unless we’re going to be seeing Clarissa and Sabrina in their late thirties/ early forties, she may not be filling the title roles this time around.
What do you think about these shows coming back? Would you watch them if Melissa Joan Hart was no longer the main character? Comment and tell us what you think.
