Jonathan Majors, who plays Kang, was arrested on March 25th, 2023, after being charged with assault, strangulation, and harassment of his girlfriend. He was then arrested in New York after the police department responded to a 911 call that involved the couple in domestic violence. His girlfriend at the time formed the police that was assaulted. She also went to the hospital, suffering serious injuries to her neck and head. The whole time, Majors has claimed the be innocent and denies that these events happened the way they were reported.
Will The MCU Have Kang and Will Jonathan Majors Play the Role?
Jonathan Majors has gotten widely known even more after getting a role within the MCU on the Disney+ Series, Loki, where he plays He Who Remains. He was cast to then play the villain, Kang, for Phase 5 and 6 of the MCU going forward. The actor is also known for his role in Creed III. But going forward, the future for him and the MCU is on very shaky grounds.
As mentioned above, the actor is trying to prove his innocence that he didn’t assault and harass his 30-year-old girlfriend. However, some trusted sources have revealed that Marvel has done a few meetings with the Majors agents to discuss his future. Marvel has refrained from making any statements on the case since it happened. But, an industry insider, Jeff Sneider, has stated that although there were no final decisions made about the actor’s future, Marvel has still had meetings with Majors’ agent.
“I’ve heard that Marvel hasn’t made any decisions regarding Jonathan Majors but they’ve met with or spoken to his agent to discuss potential options going forward.”
For now, it is hard to say whether or not the actor is guilty or not. But, the legal team of the character has recently released text messages between the actor and his girlfriend to further prove his innocence if that be the case. So with that being on the plate, it will only be a matter of time before Marvel makes their mind up.
